FISHING IN KANGOS

In Kangos you can experience real wilderness and first class Salmon fishing in the Lainio River, home of the Baltic Salmon. The Kangos Association Waters (Kangos FVO) was established in 1973 with the purpose of managing and developing a good and versatile fishing in the Kangos and Särkimukka area.

The Lainio river is easy to wade, but a wading staff is always good to bring. The access to the river is good, though some places demand a little hike or a trip down a bumpy road.
‍Average weight for fly caught salmon here is 12-15 lb. while fish running into the 30-40+ lb. class are not uncommon. Be ready for an adventure hiking, wading and swinging flies in our picturesque water.
‍Beside salmon the river has a solid stock of Arctic grayling and there’s also some brown trout lurking around in the river. If you don’t want to fish in the main river, we have three smaller rivers that runs into the Lainio river. Olosjoki, Keräntöjoki and Nuuksjoki, here's a good population of Arctic Grayling and there’s also a chance of catching brown trout.
‍If you prefer lake fishing, there’s no less than 156 lakes surrounding Kangos, where you find species such as Northern pike, perch, Arctic grayling, Arctic char and trout.
